2018 Robotics mid -winter boot camp

Robotics winter camp is designed to introduce kids to robot design and computer programming using basic machine principles to create robots capable of performing simple tasks. Kids get hands-on experience with the VEX IQ platform and software, exploring the boundless world of robotics and engineering to create a perfect mixture of fun and imagination that can help expand their creative mind.

  • Kids will build with VEX IQ, learning the mechanics to construct their robots.

  • They’ll program the robot to run both with remote controls and autonomously using Robot C software.

  • Learn how to design effective robots, overcome design challenges, and effectively use motors, and sensors in a winning combination to create a robot for a specific task.

Python for kids

Python for kids is fun and engaging. Kids start by learning about coding fundamentals such as variables, loops, and if/then statements. From there, they progress to working with graphics and eventually to building games.

  • Mini projects like A Magic 8 Ball, A Comeback Generator, A Dice Game, or a Fortune Teller Game

  • Additional projects may include creatively generated Text Based Adventure Game, a Snake Game, or a Quiz Game

  • Positive interaction and group collaboration, beta test each other’s projects
